CONTINUOUS SOIL CULTIVATION TECHNOLOGY

The soil surface must be prepared for sowing. Let us consider the agrotechnical requirements, methods of movement of the unit, preparation of the field and quality control of work when cultivating the soil with cultivators of continuous tillage.

AGROTECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Presowing cultivation is carried out to the depth of the seeding. Unevenness of the depth of cultivation - no more than ± 0.01 m. The cultivator must completely cut the weeds and not carry the lower layers of the soil to the surface. The bottom of the furrow and the surface of the field must be level. The height of the ridges is no more than 0.04 m, the overlap of adjacent passages is 0.1 ... 0.15 m. Flaws and soil unloading during cultivation are not allowed.

As a result of using, for soil cultivation, KPS-8 cultivators , you get:

  • loosening the soil between the rows of crops

  • crust breaking on soil

  • destruction of weed growth

  • creating an insulating layer (in dry season)

MEANS OF MOVEMENT AND TRAINING FIELD

FOR PROCESSING WITH A CONTINUOUS CULTIVATOR

TILLAGE

The first cultivation is carried out across the direction of plowing or at an angle to it, and the second cultivation is carried out across the direction of the previous one. The direction of the presowing cultivation should not coincide with the direction of the subsequent sowing.

The most common modes of movement are shuttle and diagonal. For wide-cut aggregates, as well as when the aggregates are operating on short runs, when it is impossible to leave the field, the tone method of movement of the machine-tractor unit with loopless rotation is used.

With the shuttle mode of movement, the line of the first pass is fixed at a distance equal to half the width of the unit from the edge of the field. In this case, the width of the headlands must be equal to an even number of machine passes when processing them. Otherwise, the line of the first pass is fixed at a distance equal to 1.5 working widths.

An untreated strip equal to 0.5 of the working width of the unit, after its first pass, is cultivated when processing headlands. With the diagonal-angular method of movement, the line of the first pass is fixed according to the diagram. In this case, the headlands are bounced from all four sides.

The cultivation of the land with the KPS-8 cultivator occurs when it is aggregated with an MTZ tractor.

CULTIVATION QUALITY CONTROL

The quality of work is assessed by the depth of processing, the ridgedness of the surface, the degree of cutting weeds, the lack of exposure of the bottom of the furrow and flaws:

  • the depth of processing is checked with a ruler along the diagonal of the field in 10 places

  • the ridging of the surface is measured with a ruler along the diagonal of the field every 50 m

  • the degree of weed cutting is determined by counting the number of uncut weeds per 10 m2 along the diagonal of the field with five repetitions

Carrying out of the lower layers of the soil, flaws, pillowcases, straightness of the unit passes, processing of headlands are determined by visual inspection.
